Martin Dominguez Ball

Artist Statement

Born in Montevideo, Uruguay, Martin Dominguez Ball moved to New York in the mid-1980s where he became an expert woodworker while working in the construction industry.

Self-taught as an artist, his ink on wood designs marry primitive technique and painstaking attention to detail. His collection of distinctive guitars, sculpture and wall pieces evoke images of Uruguayan folk art with a decidedly contemporary flair.

Martin’s work is permanently on display at the Art House Gallery in Sugarloaf, NY. His work has been well received at galleries in New York City and in Rockland and Orange Counties.
